Let's create bonds between cultures through food!

A Taste of Culture is an educational cooking game that uses food as a common ground to build empathy and diversity by teaching players to cook culturally significant dishes from around the world. The first level features Chicken/Tofu Makhani from Northern India.

Background

A Taste of Culture was created by Too Many Cooks as a semester-long project for RIT's Fall 2021 IGME 601 - Game Development Processes course. The core objective for the project was to explore the potential for games as an element of RIT faculty, staff, and student diversity education.

Each team consisted of 5-6 students and each student was assigned a Subject Matter Expert role (Production, Background Research, Game Design, Aesthetics, and Technical). Throughout the project, teams were required to utilize Agile Development techniques which included 3-week sprints, a detailed design document, a project taskboard, user stories, playtests, etc. The project resulted in a working prototype that could be expanded on in the future.

Roles & Responsibilities
